Couch co-op and split-screen gaming has all but went extinct in recent years. We have not had quite the gaming experience that we had in the early 2000’s. That was a time when we could simply plug an extra controller in our consoles and run games together on our single 13 inch televisions. Up to 4 players on 1 tube set ups was not an uncommon occurrence in 1999.
These days you need a full on gaming room with 2 or 3 TV’s and the same number of gaming stations to enjoy your favorite games with friends. 1 company is trying to change that. Hazelight, the creator of A Way Out, has partnered with Electronic Arts once again to bring another unique gaming experience.
It Takes Two is the latest creation from Hazelight. A Way Out delivered the first popular game which forced the player to work with another real live player to advance in the game. It appears we are getting the same experience with It Takes Two.
In this game, you and a friend will play as a couple of protagonists cooperatively. May & Cody, are going through a terrible divorce, and are mysteriously transformed into a couple… of dolls. The 2 characters must work together to break this tragic curse in order to return to human form.
Hazelight will undoubtedly achieve even more spotlight with this title as it is extremely relatable in these times and also features a style of gaming we have all surely missed.
It Takes Two will release March 26, 2021.
