Dying Light 2 releases tomorrow and fans of zombies and of parkour can’t wait to get their mitts on this title. Which had me thinking of other zombie games to play tonight as I patiently wait for the release of Dying Light 2.
Already, indications are that Dying Light 2 will fully release with pesky bugs as we are becoming used to as a gaming community with many new games releasing unpolished in the modern era.
Dying Light 2 will not make this list. Mostly because it is not out yet at the time of writing. Where will its predecessor land on the list, if at all?
The List:
- Dying Light (The first one)
Overall – this is the best zombie game on the market right now. It is unique, can be played co-operatively, and very well made to boot. It did also launch with its share of bugs but has since been polished quite well. The game has seen update after update featuring events even as late as this month with its successor launching in the morning worldwide. - State of Decay 2 – State of Decay 3 has been rumored for quite some time with the teaser trailer releasing last year. This game is also quite well made and very unique. Rather than playing as a single character, the gamer instead plays as several characters in an open world. Careful though, if that character dies in in the campaign -it is gone for good.
- Back 4 Blood – this game was released only a few months ago. It has the same arcade feel as the game it was modeled after, Left for Dead. It is very fun, but I recommend playing with friends. The game can get a tad lonely in a hurry. Run with a good crew and you’re in for a treat.
- Resident Evil Village – Some have called this the best Resident Evil game of all time. There might be a couple other titles in that conversation as well, but I can certainly see the argument. If you are into horror games, then you simply must play this game in your lifetime.
- 7 Days to Die – one of my all-time favorites. 7 Days to Die doesn’t absolutely have to be played with friends. I do highly recommend jumping into this game with friends of a certain humor level. This is the only survival builder that makes our 5 list, but it had to be included.
Don’t cry that a Call of Duty zombie game didn’t make the list. It would probably be in a top ten. These are the ones I would definitely still (and do) play quite frequently. Let me know what you think. Hmu on Social
